Document Classes
All file types can be saved and revision managed in YaPlm, for some file types there are predefined document classes which control the file and its behavior. For example a SolidWorks Part file (.sldprt) is saved into the document class 'SolidWorks Part' and a AutoCAD Drawing is saved into the document class 'Drawing'. For some other file types, such as Word files (.docx), it is up to the user to select the proper class for the file. The system automatically selects one class depending on file type. In those cases where there are more than one possible class there will be a drop-down list to choose from.
