Managing Lifecycle Operations for Items
The items lifecycle is controlled by the attributes State and Phase
State
The attribute State controls the lifecycle status. The Item States in YaPlm are:
Pending - The item is in editable mode
Active - Approved Item. The item is locked
Inactive - The item is inactive
Obsolete - Out of date. No longer used.
Phase
The Phase attribute controls for which purpose an item is Released. For example a drawing can be approved for producing a prototype but it is not allowed to use the drawing in serial production. The standard Phases in YaPlm are:
Preliminary - The document is preliminarily approved
Production - The document is approved for production
The life cycle for an Item is controlled by a workflow. Please refer to workflow for more information how to approve an Item.
